Total fitness, the company behind the Total Fitness Channel, has been accused of promoting products without disclosing any information on their website, and now its CEO has responded.
Total Fitness, founded in 2007, is owned by the company called Cravath, Swaine & Warren, Inc. in the U.S. and by Media Ventures, Inc., the same firm that owns Elite Daily, which is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Media Ventures.
According to its most recent annual report, Total Fitness reported $2.7 billion in revenue in fiscal 2018.
In addition to Total Fitness, Total fitness has a subsidiary called The Ultimate Fitness.
On its website, the website for Total Fitness claims that the company provides “over 100,000 fitness videos for men, women, and children.”
But in its most recently quarterly report, Total Fitness reported revenues of $2,527 million, which included $2 million in sales of products.
According to the annual report, the Company’s revenue grew to $2 billion in fiscal 2020, which represented a 23 percent increase from the prior year.
“We have been investing in technology and innovation to make it easier to reach a broader audience,” said Mark Wahlgren, CEO of Total Fitness.
“In this new era, we need to create more products that fit with our culture and help more people reach their fitness goals.”
The company said it also added 10,000 new employees to its workforce in the past year, and its employees will be required to complete a training program for the next five years.
According to a press release, Wahlberg and co-founder Scott Jaffe plan to continue to build Total Fitness’ user base, adding a range of products to its YouTube channel.
The company also announced plans to launch an app called Total Fitness Elite, which will offer “unique and personalized fitness content to our fans, as well as provide a personalized platform to help our fans find the fitness products they are looking for.”
“The ultimate fitness experience, from the comfort of their own home, is what we strive for, and we believe Total Fitness is a leader in this area,” said Wahlang.
